TASTING NOTES
Pale straw to golden in colour, with omnipresent aromas of pear, lychee, yellow peach, and honey, yet at a level above 2021 vintage. And evidently more complex, rounded, and exuberant on the nose. Hints of nuttiness, think macadamia. Voluptuous mouthfeel with smooth, creamy texture, and just enough acidity to keep everything in balance. A tad brighter and more vibrant, longer lasting finish comparing to the predecessor. A versatile, generous wine that can be perfectly enjoyed on its own, although it will truly shine when paired with the right food.
ABOUT
In 2022 Marsanne ripened earlier and was hand-picked on 8th of March, while Roussanne took until 19th of March to be ready. This meant they were whole bunch-pressed separately, and juice was spontaneously fermented in respective stainless-steel tanks, with the help of temperature control to retain pristine aromatics. At around midway through, fermenting juices were transferred to French oak barrels (79% seasoned, 21% new) where young wines remained for a year, with full malolactic fermentation taking place, accompanied by occasional gentle lees stirring. After 12 months both batches showed the expected quality and were blended together into a stainless-steel tank for further 7 months of maturation before bottling on 20th of October.
